Feb break respite 2014For the first time ever, TAPA held respite classes over February Break.

On Thursday, “Girls Ruled” TAPA as it was the first day in TAPA’s history that we had all female students, volunteers, and teachers.  We made snowflake chains with glitter glue and sparkles, and read the book “Snowmen at Night” to inspire our own nighttime winter paintings. Using collage paper and paint stamps helped us develop these masterpieces.  We had a dance party and moved like animals during yoga class.  We even had snack on our “magic carpets” just to be silly!

On Friday we had a full house, with eight students attending our morning respite!  It was a rainy day and we made watercolors in art class to lighten our moods.  In Yoga class we tried new poses and used oversized dice to create our sequences and flow.  In dance class we danced to The Beatles and choreographed dances using our Eric Carle movement cards.

Overall, it was a great February Break respite and we are looking forward to holding many more in the future!
